Psychological View on Racism

Many of the sources I found took some sort of psychological approach to different racial conflicts in the country. These professionals are interested in the 'how' and 'why' of racism's presence; instead of analyzing racism in itself as a topic they analyzed it through the lens of human behaviors and interactions. Out of all the different kinds of research I read, I found this approach the most intriguing; I am familiar with research on police brutality, media coverage, and different micro-aggressions, but looking at it from this perspective gave the research a unique angle. Psychological research tends to rely on both surveys and experiments; information from a survey or statistics will be analyzed and then applied through an experiment on a small controlled group.
